Troubleshooting Uncanny Page Builder

Most Uncanny Page Builder issues come down to a few common causes. Work through this list before reaching out to support.

I don’t see the Uncanny Page Builder button

• Confirm Uncanny Automator is installed and active — Page Builder is one of its core capabilities, included in every plan.
• Check your environment: Page Builder requires WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 8.1+.
• Check your role: administrators manage everything; editors can edit content. If you can’t access builder features, ask a site administrator.

Uncanny Agent won’t build (“Start chatting” isn’t working)

Building and editing with AI requires Uncanny Automator with Uncanny Agent connected, and page building consumes Agent usage. If Agent isn’t responding:

• Confirm Uncanny Agent is connected in your Automator settings — see Getting started with Uncanny Agent.
• Check whether you’ve used up your available usage — see Monthly Usage vs. Anytime Usage, Explained.

Uncanny Agent stopped and is asking me something

That’s by design. Significant changes require your approval — look for the Approve/Reject prompt in the chat and respond to let Uncanny Agent continue. See Reviewing and approving what Uncanny Agent builds.

A live element isn’t updating

• If the plugin was deactivated, most live elements show their last-published content and pause updating until it’s reactivated. Live-only elements (login forms, visitor-specific content, filtered post queries) need the plugin active to display at all.

The page looks different on the live site than in the builder

If the page uses your theme’s header and footer, the theme controls some styles, so the final design can differ slightly from the builder preview. For pixel-level control, switch the page to full-page mode — see Choosing a page layout.

Another page builder is on this page

Page Builder detects other builders (like Elementor) on a page so two editors never fight over the same content. Finish the page in one builder, or switch it fully to Page Builder — your original is saved automatically and you can switch back anytime.

I can’t add custom code or animations

Custom page-level JavaScript and the animation/slider/3D libraries are gated to administrators with the highest permission level, and site owners can switch the capability off entirely. If you need these, ask a site administrator.
