In yesterday's Uncanny Automator 4.15 release, we introduced a huge number of new features, including…
Pro 4.9: Thrive Apprentice, BuddyBoss & More
Uncanny Automator Pro 4.9 is now available. Our first Pro release of 2023 adds almost 20 new triggers and actions, multiple improvements and some new action tokens.
Thrive Apprentice
While we introduced the Thrive Apprentice integration in today’s Automator 4.9 release, the Pro update really brings it to life. Here’s what’s new in the Pro integration:
- Trigger: A user makes a purchase
- Trigger: A user starts a module in a course
- Trigger: A user attempts to access a restricted course
- Trigger: A user progresses in a course
- Trigger: A user starts a course
- Trigger: A user starts a lesson in a course
- Action: Grant the user access to a product
- Action: Remove the user’s access to a product
If you’re a Thrive Apprentice user, these new capabilities will let you build personalized learning paths and experiences with ease. When a user starts a course, trigger an onboarding automation in ConvertKit and send the user a congratulatory message via SMS. If the student doesn’t go on to complete the course in 30 days, notify their manager and add the user to a report in Google Sheets. The possibilities are endless.
BuddyBoss
While we already have lots of BuddyBoss support, Automator Pro 4.9 adds even more, mostly at the request of our customers. Here are the new triggers:
- A user requests to join a specific type of private group
- A user creates a group
- A user is removed from a specific type of group
- A user leaves a specific type of group
- A user rejects a friendship request
- A user replies to an activity stream message
- A user’s topic in a forum receives a reply
There are lots of interesting recipes with these new additions. When users create a new BuddyBoss group, create a LearnDash group with Uncanny Groups support for 50 seats and the creator as the new Group Leader. When a user leaves a specific group, send an exit survey with questions related to that group. When a user’s forum topic receives a reply, notify them in WhatsApp.
Additional updates
WooCommerce Subscriptions gains a pretty cool new action: Extend a user’s subscription to a specific product by a number of days. Perhaps completing extra activities on a site, like participating in discussions or submitting extra assignments, extends a user’s subscription without having to pay for it.
The WordPress Core integration adds one new action: Update the author of a post. That applies to any post type, so an example that came to us from a user wanting to post several directory pages that users could pay for to “claim”, with Automator switching the author of the post to that user on purchase (as long as it wasn’t already claimed).
If you use WP Multisite, that integration adds one new action: Add a specific user to a specific subsite. Automator keeps making it easier and easier to manage users across complex multisite networks.
On the action token side, Fluent Support gains action tokens for “Ticket ID” and “Ticket URL”, while GamiPress adds “The user’s previous points total” and “The user’s new points total”. For the GamiPress tokens, we had some customer examples where Automator was used to perform calculations, but the actions needed to output both before and after values. The new tokens make this much easier.
Those are the highlights for Uncanny Automator Pro 4.9! We hope you find them useful. The full list of updates is available in the changelog.
