Data Privacy and GDPR

We take data privacy and the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) very seriously at Uncanny Owl. That’s why we have taken every measure we can to protect your data and make processes and safeguards available.

How is recipe data used?

When you create recipes with Uncanny Automator on your website, they will sometimes include personal data and identifiable user records. Uncanny Automator itself does not store personal information, but the recipes you create with it may store identifiable data. By default, all of this data stays on your site and cannot be sent to us. Except for an Uncanny Automator license (which includes the email address of the plugin purchaser, site URL and license key), no other data is sent back to Uncanny Owl.

If you optionally connect to a third party API service to pass data using Uncanny Automator (e.g. Slack, Google Sheets, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), some data will pass through our API server. It is received and sent in an encrypted format and never stored. This data usage is optional and not enabled by default, only when you connect your third party account (e.g. Twitter) to Uncanny Automator.  Zapier and webhook actions can be used as substitutes if you elect not to send data through our server.

Data Processing Agreement

Our Data Processing Agreement (DPA) offers contractual terms that meet GDPR requirements and reflect our data privacy commitments to our customers. Each customer processing personal data on behalf of EU/EEA individuals can sign this agreement.

Usage tracking

The Uncanny Automator plugin can optionally collect information about your plugins and recipes and send it to us for anonymous reporting. Opting out does not affect plugin use in any way; full details are available at
