Uncanny Agent, the AI assistant built into Uncanny Automator, opens from two launchers in the WordPress admin: a tab at the bottom of the screen and a button in the admin bar at the top. Both are static links. Uncanny Agent doesn’t load until you click one and send a message. If you’d rather not see them, you can switch either launcher off in Automator’s settings.
The Uncanny Agent settings tab is shown on sites whose Uncanny Automator license or connected account includes Uncanny Agent. If your site doesn’t have the tab, Uncanny Agent isn’t available there and its launchers aren’t shown.
Turn off a launcher
- Log in to your site as an administrator. Uncanny Agent and its settings are available to administrators only.
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Automator > Settings and click the Uncanny Agent tab.
- To remove the tab at the bottom of the screen, switch Uncanny Agent Launcher Tab to Disabled.
- To remove the button in the admin bar, switch Uncanny Agent Top Bar Button to Disabled.
- Click Save settings.
The two switches are independent, so you can keep one launcher and hide the other. To bring a launcher back, switch it to Enabled and save again.
Note: With both switches off, Uncanny Agent’s options inside the recipe builder, such as Ask Uncanny Agent in the ⋮ More actions menu and Fix with Uncanny Agent, are hidden too. If either switch is on, those options stay and open Uncanny Agent.
Sites that share a license
The setting applies to the site you change it on. If your Uncanny Automator license is active on other sites, change the setting on each of them. Managing your Uncanny Agent conversations explains how Uncanny Agent keeps each site separate.
